For Protocol Class students, the lecture is one of your regular classes and you are required to participate.

Sherry Shieh
 
Pianist composer Shieh was presented to Prince Philip of England for outstanding music achievement at 12. In 1993, she performed for Audrey Hepburn's funeral ceremony. Shieh became the youngest master graduate of Indiana University School of Music at 20, and was accepted as the youngest ph.D student at Boston University, under the instruction of legendary pianist Anthony di Bonaventura. Since then Shieh has been performing extensively around the world. In 2004, Shieh was invited and commissioned by Nancy Music Festival in France, where she played six highly acclaimed concerts, premiering her work Les trios visions d’un oiseau Oriental (Album release in May, 2010). in 2005, she collaborated with award-winning film composer Luis Bacalov (Il Postino, Kill Bill), one of her music earned The Emma Constabile Award. The same year, Shieh made national debut in Taiwan, premieredDynasty (Release in May, 2010).  In 2007, Shieh’s commissioned ballet 門/GATE toured all over Taiwan, earning “Best Group of the Year” from Tainan government.
 
Shieh’s music ranges from Classical to Pop, Stage to Media. In 2008, Shieh collaborated with Taiwanese rock band “Chairman” on their album. Shieh also appears as a frequent soloist and host at Taiwan’s major cultural and diplomatic events. Currently Shieh is a monthly contributor to United Daily Newspaper, MUZIK magazine、PEUGEOT CLUB, and a music lecturer at various organizations and film institutes in Taiwan. Shieh is currently scoring for two documentary films. Les trios visions d’un oiseau Oriental is her first Oriental album.
